A lot of things have happened during the 1940s and 1950s. In the 1940s World War II happend and the cold war started. Many people were scared during the cold war and many people disagreed with the United States getting involved in wars in the 1950s. World War II started in 1939 and ended in 1945. World War II is the deadliest war since many people died in concentration camps and battles. The two sides to the war is the Allies and the Axis Powers. The allies consist of Britain, the United States, and the Soviet Union. The Axis Powers consist of Germany, Italy, and Japan.
When World War II ended there was two super powers that remained which is the Soviet Union and the United States. The United States and the Soviet Union had different points of views which caused them to get into an arms race. The cold war started in 1947 and the United States and the Soviet Union started to send supplies to countries fighting to see if they would be a capitalist country or a communist country.
